COURT HOUSE — Middle Township Board of Education, at its March 19 meeting, unanimously decided that graduation for the Class of 2009, tentatively June 17 due to the snow day earlier in March, would take place at Memorial Field at 4 p.m. instead of 6 p.m. as in the past.
In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 3 p.m. Once that decision is made, commencement ceremonies will be relocated to the main high school gymnasium, which can accommodate about 1,100, and the ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.
The graduating class will consist of about 250, according to Superintendent Michael Kopakowski.
Last year, the graduation ceremony was shortened when a thunderstorm took place just as the ceremony was about to start.
