In girls’ soccer, Middle Township advanced past Delran on penalty kicks, Nov. 7, in the South Jersey Group II semi-finals. After a scoreless regulation Jen Hicks scored the deciding PK. Laura Miller and Danielle McCann connected on penalty kicks for Middle.
Haddonfield ended Middle’s stellar season with a 3-0 decision, Nov. 10, in the South Jersey Group II Final.
Lower Cape May’s Maddie Gibson scored twice as the Caper-Tigers upset top-seeded Timber Creek, 2-1, Nov. 7, in South Jersey Group III semifinals.
Lower’s excellent campaign ended with a 3-0 loss to Moorestown, Nov. 10, in the South Jersey Group III Final.
In boys’ soccer, Haddonfield stopped Middle Township, 1-0, in overtime, Nov. 8, in the South Jersey Group II semifinal.
Ocean City defeated Lacey Township, 3-0, Nov. 8, in the South Jersey Group III semifinals. Steve Zellers scored twice and Andrew Kimball added a goal.
Ocean City succumbed on penalty kicks, 5-4, to Timber Creek, Nov. 11, in the South Jersey Group III Final. The scored was knotted, 1-1, in regulation. Zellers, Tristan Johns, Max Berardis and Derrick Brewer connected on PKs for the Red Raiders. Zellers scored the lone OC goal.
In field hockey, Ocean City dropped a 3-2 penalty stroke decision to Kingsway, Nov. 8. The teams played to a 2-2 tie in regulation as the Red Raiders received two goals from Liz Cruz.
In football, Wildwood defeated Riverside, 38-26, Nov. 11. Wesley Hills ran for 257 yards and five touchdowns.
Middle Township whipped Pinelands, 55-0, Nov. 11. Nigel Case scored three touchdowns and Jewels Cruz added a pair of scores.
Sterling dominated Lower Cape May, 34-13, Nov. 11. Mike Mulligan tossed two touchdowns including a 26-yarder to Bob O’Donnell and a nine yard toss to Vance Matthews.
