MAYS LANDING—Atlantic Cape Community College hosted the second annual Communication and Art Awards ceremony on May 1 at the Mays Landing Campus. Local students receiving awards were:
Winners of the Public Speaking Awards were: Best Debate Speeches, Zachary Pashley of Ocean View and Dante Barfield of Wildwood; Best Informative Speeches, Marnie Niederhofer of Dorothy and Gerri Ridings of West Wildwood; Best Persuasive Speeches, Brittany Wehner of Villas; and Best Call to Action Speech, Alexandra Bednarek of Sea Isle City.
Mass Media Award, Lindsey Hand of Stone Harbor; Public Relations and Interpersonal Communication Award winners were: Best Press Releases, Lynne Chalmers of Ocean City; Best Interpersonal Project, Brittany Todd of Dennis Township, Brittan Wehner, Stephen O’Connor of Sea Isle City; and Traci Taylor of Cape May.
Creative Writing and Theater Awards winners were: Best Fiction, Chris Urie of Ocean City; Best Monologues, Rebecca Stout and Shannon Decker, both of Court House; Best Theater Project, Jennifer Post of Villas, Kristen Dougherty of Court House; and Performing Arts Club Award, Cory D’Amore of Dorothy.
The Art Awards winner: Michael Wheeler of Seaville; Best 2D Work, Lee Neuman of Court House; Best 3D Work, Peggy Evans of Wildwood; Outstanding Achievement, Fred Galloway of Ocean City; Student Pioneers, Alexandra Bednarek, Julianne Scott of Ocean View, and Erin Laffey of Court House.
