Governor Names County Resident Head of Cumberland Schools

TRENTON — A Cape May County resident who serves as a school superintendent in Atlantic County was recently nominated by Gov. Jon S. Corzine to be the Cumberland County executive superintendent of schools.
Richard Stepura, of Petersburg, currently serves as the superintendent of the Northfield School District. He was named by Corzine to fill the Cumberland superintendent position, which was vacated by the retirement of Dr. Daniel Mastrobuono. Michael Elwell has been serving as acting superintendent in the meantime.
Corzine’s nominations are subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
