Dennis Township School Hosts Hot Shots Basketball Competition

DT basketball

By Press Release

DENNIS TOWNSHIP – Forty-two teams competed in the Dennis Township Hot Shots basketball shoot-out this past Friday evening at the Dennis Township Elementary/Middle School.
The Hot Shots free throw competition was sponsored by the Dennis Township Education Association PRIDE Committee with assistance from the Dennis Township PTA and members of the community.
Kelli Turner, DTEA PRIDE Chair, is thrilled with the number of teams and level of participation.  “Hot Shots keeps getting bigger each year and we get more community involvement and support,” Turner says.  She explains the goal of the event is to bring students and their family members or important adults together to spend time in a fun, competitive environment, which is also one of the DTEA PRIDE Committee’s missions.
Congratulations go to the top three winning teams: David Dickinson and Jude Screnci (1st Place), Ben Harris and Dave Kendrick (2nd Place), and Jordan and Jason Blakeslee (3rd Place).
DT PTA President Julie Wolfe and Vice President Janette Raab thank the many people who assisted with organizing and running the event, including teachers Caroline Jones, Taylor Reeves, Lauren Lillie, Jennifer Peabody, Katie McGroarty, Krista Kelso, Kim Holman, Carlos Covarrubias, Kelli Turner, and Greta Liston, as well as Principal Jamie Van Artsdalen and parents Courtney and Jason Hearon.
