CREST HAVEN – The winners of the Cape May County Earth Day Celebration Logo Contest have been chosen.
The contest, sponsored by the freeholders and the Park and Zoo, is held annually to commemorate the county’s Earth Day celebration. This year’s theme is “Put Plastic in its Place.”
The following winners were selected from the more than 200 entries received from in-county students.
The first-place design, which will be featured on the Earth Day T-shirt, was created by Gabrielle Zenyuk, a student at Cape May County Technical School.
The second-place entry was from Hanna Gabriel of Ocean City Intermediate School.
Chosen in a close third, was an entry from Amber Moore, also from the Cape May County Technical School.
The county’s Earth Day celebration will take place at the Cape May County Park and Zoo April 21.
The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with a One-Mile Fun Run followed by a 5K Race at 9 a.m. The Earth Day Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The fair will be a fun-filled day of activities including live music, interactive drum circle, educational exhibits, environmental magic show, crafts and a food court, according to a release.
