College Magazine, Writers Win Literary Awards

MAYS LANDING – Rewrites, the Atlantic Cape Community College literary magazine, and three student writers earned awards for the 2014 issue.
The magazine won second place in the Eastern Division of the Community College Humanities Association’s 2014 Literary Magazine Competition.
In addition, specific works from the 2014 issue were highlighted:
• Call Me Olga Picasso by Danielle Monzo of Northfield won first place in the Poetry division;
• Ruminant by Kaitlyn Feldbauer of Mays Landing won third place in the Poetry division;
• The New Normal by Erica Villani of Hammonton earned second place in the Script/Story category.
Rewrites is published each spring and edited by students. It contains short fiction, poetry, one-act plays, essays, 2D pencil, pen and ink drawings, and photos submitted by students, staff, faculty and alumni. Rich Russell, assistant professor of English, is the faculty advisor.
