Cape Tech Selects Scholar Athlete Award Winner

CREST HAVEN – Jaclyn Gehring, of Wildwood Crest, was selected as the Cape May County Technical High School’s Scholar Athlete Award winner.  Gehring attended the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Twenty-third Annual Scholar/Athlete Awards Program on May 15 at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ.  
The NJSIAA, founded in 1918, is a voluntary, non-profit organization made up of 433 accredited public, private and non-public high schools in the state. Each year, every member school selects a senior who 1-plays a NJSIAA varsity sport, 2-possesses a cumulative grade point average of no less than 3.0, and 3-exhibits outstanding school and community citizenship, to be honored at the annual Scholar Athlete awards. Over $120,000 in scholarships is given out each year to the athletes at this prestigious event.
