COURT HOUSE – Bishop Dennis J. Sullivan of the Diocese of Camden will make a special visit to Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School Sept. 17, 2014. The Bishop will conduct a prayer service for the students, and also tour the classrooms to visit with the students.
Bishop Sullivan is the spiritual leader of the approximately 475,000 Catholics within the Diocese of Camden. A native New Yorker, he previously served as the auxiliary bishop for the New York Archdiocese. He has worked and volunteered in some of the poorest areas of Manhattan and the South Bronx. Fluent in Spanish, he also studied and volunteered in the Dominican Republic.
Bishop McHugh Regional School is a PreK-8 regional school in Cape May County with a student-centered curriculum grounded in the Gospel values. It is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and follows the Common Core State Standards in all subject areas. The school is part of the Diocese of Camden, and is supported by the four regional parishes of Avalon/Stone Harbor, Cape May Court House, Marmora/Woodbine and Sea Isle City.
