Students at Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School in Ocean View participated in science-related activities during the week of March 9. It concluded Friday evening, March 13 with a Science Fair and a visit to the Sky Lab.
The Science Fair featured projects from students in sixth through eighth grades. Grades 2 through 5 also displayed projects that they have worked on throughout the year. The community was invited to view the projects and awards were given to the top four science projects.
Eighth-grader Andrew Pfeiffer took first place with his project, “Does your ball work well under pressure?”
Eighth-grader Paige Schoultz was awarded second place with her project, “What vase water additive helps cut flowers last the longest?”
Sixth-grader Christopher Roselli took third place with his project, “How does temperature affect magnetism?” Honorable mention went to sixth-grader Alexandria Lipski.
There was a Sky Lab set up in the school’s auditorium. Students had the opportunity to experience various constellations at the mini-planetarium.
