MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College’s student newspaper, The Atlantic Cape Review, won 12 awards in the 2015-16 New Jersey Collegiate Press Association’s annual Better Newspaper Contest, an affiliate of the New Jersey Press Association.
Of the 12 awards, five were first place, two were second place, and five were third place. Awards include: Taylor Henry (first semester editor), Rio Grande, won first place for Feature Writing for 2-year schools, first place forEditorial Writing for 2-year schools and second place for Biography/Personality Profile for 2-year schools; Nicole Mingo (second semester editor), Egg Harbor Township, won third place for Biography/Personality Profile for 2-year schools, and third place forColumn/Opinion Writing for 2-year schools; Dayanira Quinones, Atlantic City, won third place for Feature Writing for 2-year schools; Johnny Sanchez, Northfield, won second place for News Writing for 2-year schools; Chris Devine, Egg Harbor Township, won third place forEditorial Writing for 2-year schools; Kyle Schachner, Atlantic City, won first place forColumn/Opinion Writing for 2-year schools and first place for Investigative/Enterprise Reporting for 2-year schools; Erik Conklin, Egg Harbor Township, won third place forSports Writing for 2-year schools; and Atlantic Cape Review editorial staff won first place in General Excellence for 2-year schools for the October and November editions.
