MAYS LANDING—Atlantic Cape Community College will offer a new certification program for those interested in becoming substitute teachers. This 10-hour program provides an overview of the role and expectations of the substitute teacher, as well as the application and certification process. Upon completion, students will receive one Continuing Education Unit.
Training includes:
• The role of the substitute teacher
• Growth and development by age level
• Appropriate teaching strategies
• Classroom management
• Practical ideas and resources
• Application process
• Professionalism in and out of the classroom
• Health and safety issues
The class will be offered 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 7 and 14 at the Mays Landing Campus.
