Atlantic Cape Offers Resources for Displaced Casino Workers

MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College will open its doors to workers displaced by casino shutdowns to take advantage of computer labs and additional resources while searching for new employment.
According to a release, the college is making computers available at its campuses, by appointment, beginning Sept. 15. Displaced workers must present a casino ID and bring a USB drive to save their work, or purchase a low-cost print card at campus libraries. Lists of career exploration and resume-building websites will be provided.
Available locations and times include:
• Cape May County Campus, 341 Court House-South Dennis Road, Court House, Student Development/First Floor. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-11 a.m., Wednesdays, 1-4 p.m., and Fridays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Call (609) 463-8113.
• Charles D. Worthington Atlantic City Campus, 1535 Bacharach Blvd., Room 145. Mondays, 9-11 a.m., Wednesdays, 2-4 p.m., and Fridays, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

• Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike, J-Building Career Office/Student Life Center. Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-noon, and Wednesdays, 1-3 p.m. Call (609) 343-5667. Additional computers are available in the William Spangler Library, D-Building, Fridays, 1-4 p.m., and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Call (609) 343-4951.

Workers affected by the pending closure of Atlantic City casinos are invited to learn more about Atlantic Cape programs at an open house, Oct. 19, at the Mays Landing Campus, 5100 Black Horse Pike. For information about the college’s programs, call (609) 343-4900.
