By Sponsored Content

MAYS LANDING – Atlantic Cape Community College will launch a new degree this fall for those interested in learning to fly helicopters. Students in the Professional Helicopter Pilot program will be prepared to earn their Federal Aviation Administration license as a private and commercial helicopter pilot with an instrument rating.
The Professional Helicopter Pilot option is designed to provide students with the necessary aeronautical skills and knowledge to earn a commercial pilot certificate with a rotorcraft category and a helicopter class rating. Emphasis is placed on aeronautical decision-making, flight safety and effective flying techniques. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be prepared for entry-level employment as a commercial helicopter pilot and/or to continue their education by transferring to a baccalaureate program.
Students will learn through a combination of classroom and hands-on training.
To be eligible for admission into this program, students must be a citizen of the United States, be at least 18 years old and successfully pass an FAA Class II medical examination.
Classes will be held at the Atlantic City International Airport. The fall semester begins Sept. 2. Registration is ongoing, Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., or online at www.atlantic.edu/fall.
