Art Fair Shows Off Students’ Work

CAPE MAY – Drums made by students, paintings, music and puppetry were highlighted at the Dolores Cheney Youth Arts Fair April 10.
The event was sponsored by the Center for Community Arts. Visual art was on display from students from Cape May and West Cape May elementary schools, Cape Christian Academy, Middle Township Elementary #1, Cape May Tech High School and the Center for Community Arts YAP programs in Wildwood, Lower Township and Cape May.
Scholarships, which support summer study in the arts, were presented to four students.
The Dolores Cheney Scholarships were presented to Ashley Hennessey for voice, Alissa Vassar for painting, Jacklyn Reinhart for pottery and Taylor DeHoratiis for jewelry.
The 2010 Sidney Hicks Scholarship recipient was Andrea McVay for dance.
