The following local students graduated, were named the Dean’s List or received awards:
SALISBURY, Md.— Chelsey May of Court House, NJ, recently participated in Salisbury University’s 10th annual Student Research Conference. May co-presented “Children’s Bible Illustrations.”This illustration project consists of rigorous research on biblical topics, various sketches and working with clients and a publisher with the goal of creating approximately sixty illustrations for a children’s book based on the different books of the Bible.

ITHACA, NY — Shaza Elsheshtawy, daughter of Yasser Elsheshtawy and Sahar Afifi of Ocean City, was named to the Dean’s List at Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications for the spring 2011 semester.

BALTIMORE, Md. — Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its spring 2011 Dean’s List. They are:
• Sophia Coste, a member of the class of 2013 from Ocean City
• Mitchell Corwin, a member of the class of 2014 from Ocean City
• Allison Iudica, a member of the class of 2011 from Ocean View

PAUL SMITHS, N.Y. — The following area students were named to the Dean’s List at Paul Smith’s College during the spring 2011 semester. Each earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction:
Chelsea DiAntonio of Cape May Court House, N.J., who is enrolled in the college’s School of Forestry and Natural Resources.
Matthew Hamer of Woodbine, N.J., who is enrolled in the college’s School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Hamer was also named an Adirondack Scholar, having achieved a cumulative average of at least 3.8.

Commencement:
* Maureen Fenimore, a student from Swainton graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Marmora resident Molly O’Brien. O’Brien graduated cum laude with a degree in health and exercise science.
Ocean City resident Melanie Walters. Walters graduated cum laude with a degree in art education (K-12).
