The following local students graduated, entered college, or were named to the dean’s list at their respective colleges:
Alison Kelly of Clermont Enrolls at James Madison University
HARRISONBURG, — Clermont, NJ resident, Alison Kelly, has enrolled at James Madison University for the fall 2012 semester. Kelly plans on majoring in nursing.

Edward Lopizzo Intends to Enroll at Florida Tech This Fall
MELBOURNE, FL — Edward Lopizzo of Wildwood Crest, NJ (08260) has announced an intent to begin studies at Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Fla., in Fall 2012. Lopizzo graduated from Wildwood High School and plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management.

SALISBURY, MD—Two Cape May County students recently graduated from Salisbury University. They were among the 1,605 students who received 1,424 bachelor’s degrees and 181 master’s degrees during a ceremony at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.
Area residents include Erin Laffey, B.A., communication arts, of Cape May; and John Coggins, B.S., accounting, of Ocean View.

Local Residents Graduate from Drexel University
PHILADELPHIA, PA — Several local residents graduated from Drexel University. More than 5,000 students received degrees from Drexel this year at the University’s 125th Commencement. Congratulations to the following students:
Seaville resident Danielle Annarelli graduated from Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Ocean City resident Kevin Bligh graduated from Drexel’s College of Information Science and Technology with a Master of Science.
Ocean View resident Katherine Funk graduated from Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions with a Master of Family Therapy.
City resident Jennifer Godin graduated from Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
North Cape May resident Ian McEwing graduated from Drexel’s College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Seaville resident Michelle Mckinley graduated from Drexel’s College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science.
Cape May Courthouse resident Jorge Peifer graduated from Drexel’s College of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
Cape May Court House resident Pamela Shute graduated from Drexel’s School of Education with a Master of Science.

COLCHESTER, VT — Derick Logan, son of Alison and Mark Logan of Cape May Court House was selected for the 2012-2013 academic year to be a Resident Assistant for the Office of Student Life at Saint Michael’s College, a liberal arts residential Catholic college located in Burlington, Vermont, one of the top 10 college towns in the country
Logan, a junior media studies, journalism and digital arts major graduated from Middle Township High School before coming to Saint Michael’s.

POTSDAM, NY Guangming Yao, daughter of Shuxue Jiaoshou of Avalon, N.J., has been appointed assistant professor of mathematics at Clarkson University. Before coming to Clarkson, Yao was an assistant professor in mathematics at Rowan University. Before that, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.
MEDFORD, MA — This fall more than 1,300 undergraduate students from around the world began their first year at Tufts University, located in Medford/Somerville, Mass. Elizabeth Fabian Slocum, of Stone Harbor, NJ was among the first-year students.
CONWAY, SC –The following local high school students have been accepted at Coastal Carolina University for the Fall 2013 semester.:
Dennis Olson, a student at Lower Cape May Regional High School, is a resident of North Cape May, NJ.
Alexis Szathmary, a student at Middle Township High School, is a resident of Cape May Court House, NJ.
Rachel Doerr, a student at Ocean City High School, plans to major in Recreation and Sport Management.

Marmora, NJ student recognized at General Honors Award Ceremony
NEWARK, DE –Top students in the University of Delaware Honors Program were recognized in a special ceremony, held Sunday, Nov. 4, at the Trabant University Center. Among those distinguished students was Joseph Massaglia. Massaglia is from Marmora, NJ.

CLEMSON, SC — Local residents have enrolled at Clemson University for the fall semester.
Jared Robert Cantz of Green Creek is majoring in Pre-Business.
Joseph Samuel Delvescio of Palermo is majoring in History.
Elizabeth Ann Morinelli of Cape May Court House is majoring in Pre-Business.
They join nearly 3,400 freshmen at Clemson this semester.
