MAYS LANDING — Atlantic Cape Community College has added three new credit courses for the fall semester.
Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) explores how maps are used to collect, analyze, display and evaluate facts and ideas for solving problems in various applications. The course will help students prepare for careers in many diverse fields, from criminal justice to social work and hospitality management.
Introduction to Islam delves into the origins, roles of women and rituals of the second largest religion in the world, and its remarkable growth since the seventh century.
Sociology of Gender is a study of traditional and post-modern gender roles and their impact on family, politics and society in general.
Fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 31. Students can register in person weekdays from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. now through Friday, Aug. 28, with extended hours 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Aug. 24-27.
ACCC will accept registrations by fax, mail or online through Sunday, Aug. 30. Students must have a PIN to register online. New students must apply for admission prior to registering for classes.
Cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted for registrations in person.
Online registrations require payment by credit card.
