COURT HOUSE — Rutgers Cooperative Extension Agricultural and Resource Management Division’s “Gardening by the Seasons” workshop Seed Starting 101 was held on March 7 at Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cape May County, 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, New Jersey.
The class, taught by Jennifer Sawyer, Rutgers Master Gardener Coordinator for Cape May County, educated the participants on selecting what seeds to start and when; how to select equipment, and seedling care. Each attendee also selected seeds for vegetables, herbs or flowers and planted them to take home. Additionally, a special demonstration on how to build a portable grow light was presented by Rutgers Master Gardeners Jerry McManus and Brenda Church.
The next program in the 2016 Workshop Series “Gardening by the Seasons” will be From Hive to Honey on Mon., April 18 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Rutgers Cooperative Extension in Cape May Court House. For more information or to register, please call 465-5115, ext. 607.
