RIO GRANDE – At Girl Scouts, girls learn about leadership and preparedness from the start. First aid is one way to take charge, adapt, and respond to the unexpected. Learning first aid at an early age best prepares girls for any unanticipated scenario. The first aid badge requirements change based on Girl Scout level, but girls learn when to call 9-1-1, how to make a first aid kit, how to manage minor illnesses and injuries, and how to prevent any further injuries, and more. So, when the unexpected happens – Girl Scouts are prepared.
The Rio Grande Rescue Squad will be donating their time to present the steps for the Brownie First Aid badge, Junior First Aid Badge and Cadette First Aid badge for girls in grades 2-8. Girl Scouts will learn the first aid requirements from the people who help save lives every day!
The First Aid Badge for Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes will take place April 24 at the Green Creek Fire Company in Cape May from 6:45 pm to 8:45 p.m.
