Yom Ha’Shoah Commemorative Program ‘An Evening of Remembrance’

By Sponsored Content

On Thursday, May 5 at 7 p.m., Beth Judah will present a Yom Ha’Shoah Commemorative program, “An Evening of Remembrance,” co-sponsored by the Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage of Stockton University. Ruth Fisch Kessler, a survivor of the “Kinder Transport,” will be the featured speaker.
Ruth Kessler was born in 1933 in Vienna, Austria and was one of 10,000 children taken from their home and transported to Liverpool Station in London. She was 5 years old at the time. She is author of “The Blue Vase,” a first-hand account of a child both blessed and cursed by her experiences. Her resilience after great tragedy is astounding.
Yom Ha’Shoah is officially known as Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day. As the name suggests, it is a day dedicated to memorial and somber reflection in recognition of the millions of lives lost under Nazi persecution as well as the acts of resistance that took place throughout the war.
As individuals and as a community, we are charged by history with creating a culture of memory that will ensure that there is a continuum of remembrance, and that memory inspires us to make a better world. Please join us in the Beth Judah Social Hall, Spencer & Pacific Avenues in Wildwood and bring your family and friends. All are welcome.
