AVALON — Wells Memorial Presbyterian Church announced that June Batz has joined the church staff as organist and will serve as chair of the music committee. Batz served as organist for the Methodist Church in Williamstown for 26 years until she moved to Court House in 1999 where she and her husband, Ray, reside year round. She currently is the organist for the Methodist Church in Avalon for the winter months.
Church committee co-chair Dave Knoche noted “We are delighted that June and her husband Ray will become an important part of our worship service, including the very popular Hymn Sing, and will become members of the church committee.”
Wells Memorial Presbyterian Church conducts a hymn sing every Sunday morning beginning at 9:45 a.m., followed by a worship service at 10 a.m. It is a summer-only congregation affiliated with the Presbytery of West Jersey (PCUSA), and is located at First Avenue and Ninth Street in Avalon.
