Vesper Services to Be Held at Cape May Convention Hall

By Press Release

CAPE MAY — The churches of Greater Cape May will once again offer Vesper Services on Sun. evenings beginning June 29, 2014 through Aug. 24, 2014 at 6 p.m. at Cape May Convention Hall. These ecumenical services were reinstated last year when the new Convention Hall opened and were well attended. Offerings will be taken and will benefit Family Promise of Cape May County, the Cape May Food Closet, and Volunteers in Medicine local clinic.
Each week a different congregation is responsible for the worship service, and each will lead the service according to its own tradition. “This service gives our whole community an exciting opportunity to worship together,” states Rev. Dr. Jeff Elliott of Cape May Lutheran Church. “We can cooperate in honoring God without compromising our own faith tradition. We can, as well, again insight into our own relationship with God by seeing and hearing how others worship the Divinity.”
Upcoming Vesper Services are on the following Sundays at 6 p.m.:
• First United Methodist of Wildwood Crest on June 30
• Our Lady Star of the Seas on July 6
• Episcopal Church of Advent on July 13
• Cape May Lutheran on July 20
• First Methodist of Avalon on July 27
• First Assembly of God on Aug. 3
• Cape May United Methodist Church on Aug. 10
• Macedonia Baptist on Aug. 17
• First Presbyterian of Cape May on Aug. 24
