NORTH CAPE MAY — Covenant Presbyterian Church announced the Ordination of Richard W. Sterling, which took place on Sun., Oct. 17.
Sterling, who has attended Covenant for over 30 years, and has served as a Ruling Elder for the past 28 years, will now serve as pastor.
A graduate of Kings College in Briarcliff Manor, NY, Sterling decided to follow the Lord’s calling in 2006 and pursue further education in the Ministry by attending City Net Ministries in Philadelphia, graduating in June of this year.
George Smith, former pastor of Covenant, stated, “in my 40 years as pastor I have never worked with someone who has more passion for Christ,” referring to Sterling.
The service took place with 150 in attendance including members of the New Jersey Presbytery, the church congregation and members of the community.
Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 123 Fishing Creek Rd. was founded in 1883. It is an affiliate of the Presbyterian Church in America. Sunday morning worship services at Covenant are at 10:15 am. Sunday School for all ages at 9:15 am.
