STONE HARBOR — A concert of sacred music presented by Cape Shore Chorale and members of St. Mary’s choir under the direction of prominent local conductor, Scott Breiner, will take place on Sun., Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
This is a second concert marking the centennial of the church and will feature a Mass by Josef Gabriel Rheinberger and a variety of other choral pieces including “Ave Verum,” by Mozart and “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” by Bach.
JoAnne Blackwelder, the organist / choir director at St. Mary’s will accompany on the organ.
“This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of St. Mary’s,” notes Fr. John Sosnowski, the rector, “and we are hosting a series of events and invite the community to join with us in our grand celebration.
“We are so pleased that the Cape Shore Chorale will provide this wonderful concert as we conclude our year of anniversary festivities,” he added.
St. Mary’s Church, located at 9425 Third Ave. in Stone Harbor is noted for its vibrant outreach in the Cape May County community especially through its This ‘N That Thrift Shop in Rio Grande and its Heavenly Scavengers program.
