Seagrove Conference in Cape May Point Presents Apostle Marcus Barnes; Focus to Be on Healing, Holy Spirit’s Gifts

By Press Release

CAPE MAY POINT – Seagrove Conference, founded by Rev. Donald K. Theobald in 1961, presents interdenominational healing services featuring speakers gifted with the Holy Spirit in healing, miracles, and prophecy.

According to a release, they are following the dictate of Jesus who told His apostles to heal the sick, cast out

demons, and preach the gospel.

Beginning on the weekend of Oct. 12-13, Seagrove Conference will present Apostle Marcus Barnes.

On the second weekend, Oct. 19-20 Rev. Angel Morano will be present.

Finally, on Oct. 26-27, Dr. Frank Sizer will be present.

Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 11 a.m. at Seagrove Conference, Cape Avenue, Cape May Point.

Rev. Donald Theobald’s first experience in healing was in New York where he was pastoring a Presbyterian church. His secretary was crippled with cancer and on the edge of death.

Joe Poppel, a Christian evangelist in healing ministry, stopped by his parish, prayed for her, and she was miraculously healed.

Theobald opened Seagrove Conference to bring people together, of many faiths, who seek the healing touch of Jesus.

The conference is run by his son, Donald Theobald, and his wife Kate. This year’s theme is The Great Harvest.

The conference begins Oct. 12 and ends Oct. 27 on weekends.

It is scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, for three weekends, Sat. at 7 p.m. in Union Chapel, and Sunday at 11 a.m. Union Chapel is located on Cape Ave., halfway around the circle. Access is by taking Sunset Boulevard., and turning left at Cape Avenue.

Barnes is pastor of Holy Dove Christian Fellowship, in Newark, where he has served for 35 years. He oversees many churches and ministries.

During the Vietnam War, as a Marine, attached to the Chaplain’s staff, he traveled throughout S.E. Asia entertaining troops from all branches of services, many times under fire.

He worked with Billy Graham and Norman Vincent Peale and has performed numerous times on radio and television. He is also a gifted evangelist, healer, and prophet. It is his desire to reach the lost at any cost.

He is a Juilliard trained soloist. He met Rev. Theobald, Sr. when he served in the 2nd Marine Division during the Vietnam War.

Theobald gathered people together to sing, and chose “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.” In the midst of the Marines, he heard one very strong and beautiful voice, halted the singing, and asked who it was.

People pointed to Marcus Barnes, and since then, they became friends.

Barnes stated, “We must rely on the Holy Spirit and true love of Christ. I became a born-again Christian; my pastor was Apostle Arturo Skinner who had a great healing, prophetic ministry. He made me his crusade soloist. He did not get the notoriety of a Billy Graham, but he filled the stadiums.

“I went with him all over the world. He is an awesome God if we yield to Him, He can do so much with us. I met Pastor Don Theobald, the father, at Parris Island when I was in the Marines. I have been coming to Seagrove Conference ever since he began it.

Bring those in need of healing, prayer, and preaching, who expect to see the works of Christ while they hear the words of Christ, he urged.
