Roger Petersen and Ken Medema This Sunday at Ocean City Tabernacle

By Press Release

OCEAN CITY – Professor of drama Roger Petersen is the speaker this Sunday at Ocean City Tabernacle, August 7. Petersen is on the faculty of Philadelphia Biblical University and was the popular speaker for Ocean City’s Easter Sunrise Service two years ago. He preaches at the two identical worship services, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
Petersen is also the presenter for the all-day seminar “Walk Thru the Bible,” a unique approach to learning the sweeping themes of the entire New Testament. Registration is $35 (includes the seminar book and lunch) and spaces are still available.
Recording artist and composer Ken Medema is in concert at 7 p.m. and provides the music in the morning worship services—including improvising a new song based on Dr. Petersen’s sermon. For the evening concert, Medema will be joined by the Tabernacle choir singing three of his compositions: the festival selection “Music In My Mouth” plus “Come Build a Church” and “You Are There.”
An informal song service, ranging from hymns to new praise and worship songs, precedes each service. Greg Field is songleader with Carolyn Lothian on the concert grand Steinway piano and Jeff Seals on the four-manual Allen organ. Paul Berges, drummer, joins on the upbeat tunes.
Child-care is in the Noah’s Ark nursery morning and evening and age-appropriate Sunday School is offered for children during the morning services. Everyone is welcome—come in vacation clothes.
