COURT HOUSE — Over 25 attended the sixth annual C.U.R.T. Prayer Walk that began at 8 a.m. Aug. 30, and visited all Middle Township public schools.
The annual Labor Day Weekend ritual was headed by Rev. Patricia Anderson whose son, Curtis Davis, was killed near the Garden State Parkway walkway overpass as he attempted to cross the four-lane highway after a basketball game.
The prayer walk began at Middle Township High School, then went to Elementary No. 4. Prayers were offered at each stop for the welfare of all the pupils, teachers, aides and administrators who will be working with the young people throughout the school year, which begins for pupils Sept. 3.
A stop was made on the east side of the overpass where a wooden cross was erected in Davis’ memory. Anderson offered prayers not only for her son, but all the other local young people who were killed in the past year.
The group moved to the Middle Township Elementary No. One. then to the Administration Building on South Main Street.
A final stop was made at Elementary No. Two.
C.U.R.T. stands for Children United to Resist Temptation.
