STONE HARBOR — The choir of the Lutheran Church of Our Saviour will present a Christmas cantata, “Breaking News from Bethlehem,” at the morning worship service on Sun., Dec. 12 at 10 a.m.
Visitors are welcome.
Between musical numbers, the church youth and Sunday School children will dramatize a “live TV newscast” from station WNOEL in Bethlehem, as they give traffic and weather reports and conduct interviews with Mary, the innkeeper, the shepherds and the wise men.
Music includes “Silent is the Morn in Bethlehem,” “No Room,” “The Chosen One,” “Listen to the Angels Sing,” “Seeking the King,” “Run to the Manger,” “A Gift of Love,” “The Wondrous Story,” and “I Love to Tell the Story.”
Choir soloists include Rita Tice, Mark Logan, Jeff Conlin, Sue Jones, Kirstin Logan, Alison Logan, and Jack Schmidt. The choir is accompanied by Gretchen Sorensen on flute and Bonnie Kratzer on violin.
“News reporters” covering the Christmas story as it unfolds in Bethlehem include Trisha Stump, Adam Vaul, Rob Giulian, Alexine Tice, Ben Conlin, Cody Stanford, Anna Gimeno, and Kathryn Gimeno.
The children who play characters from the Christmas story include Peter Conlin, Delaney Tice, Karl Giulian, David Giulian, Cate Giulian, Samantha Gregg and Joseph Harned.
Church pastor is Rev. Dr. Glenn Schoenberger. Sunday School Director is Kathy Schoenberger. Choir director and organist is Renee Tobias.
