CAPE MAY — Uncertainty and instability has infiltrated the lives of almost everyone with so many signs of the end times becoming reality. Certainty and stability has been the framework in the religious community and spiritual lives of its’ membership. It is great to know that individuals who attend church regularly have an additional network to rely upon in these times of uncertainty and instability.
In Cape May County there are many churches representing many denominations but none quite like the Cape May Beach Sunday School which was started over eighty years ago by two mothers who found themselves at the shore with no transportation and no church within walking distance. They did the best they could by holding Sunday School on the beach in a row boat. Mentally picture them on the beach in the fresh air with their children singing at the top of their lungs and listening to the Bible stories told by their mothers.
Cape May Beach Sunday School is non-denominational with volunteer leadership. The atmosphere is informal and friendly. An open invitation is given to everyone – full-time resident, a summer season resident or a weekend visitor – a hearty welcome awaits you! The typical morning worship includes singing hymns, choruses and children’s songs, a missionary report, Bible reading and prayer. The children then go into a separate room for a Bible lesson and activity while the adults remain in the main room for a Bible lesson presented by one of our speakers who inspire all in attendance.
Be sure to listen for the Church Bell at 9:30 a.m. indicating it is time for service (9:30 to 10:30 a.m.) at Cape May Beach Sunday School every Sun. from May 27 (Memorial Day Weekend) through Sept. 2 (Labor Day Weekend), 2018. It will be worth your taking the time from your busy schedule to enjoy our worship services and fellowship with others.
