OCEAN CITY – Pastor and youth expert David Burke is the speaker this Sunday at Ocean City Tabernacle, July 17. Burke is director of youth ministries at Ocean Grove, directing a staff of 35. He is known for his passion, humor, relevance and authenticity. David frequently speaks and consults at events sponsored by Youth Specialties, Group Publishing, The Creation Festivals, Compassion International, as well as national, regional and local church events in over 40 states and several countries.
Burke’s background includes 17 years of serving in pastoral roles (youth, education, evangelism, lead pastor) in churches, 8 years as a regional denominational ministry consultant coupled with over 20 years of public speaking. He preaches at the two identical worship services, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
The Ditchfield Family Singers are in concert at 7 p.m. and provide the music in the morning worship services. Performing for over 15 years, the Ditchfield Family Singers are known for their close harmony, warmth, and wide variety of musical styles. The eight singers include three husband-wife combinations and a barbershop quartet of father and sons.
An informal song service, ranging from hymns to new praise and worship songs, precedes each service. Greg Field is songleader with Carolyn Lothian on the concert grand Steinway piano and Jeff Seals on the four-manual Allen organ. Paul Berges, drummer, joins on the upbeat tunes.
Child-care is in the Noah’s Ark nursery morning and evening and age-appropriate Sunday School is offered for children during the morning services.
Tuesday, July 19, 7 p.m. is Christmas in July in the Kull Youth Center for 6th through 8th graders. Wacky games, sweaters, and hot chocolate make this a fun evening.
