The faculty, administration, staff and students of Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School received a wonderful Catholic Schools Week surprise; the Most Reverend Dennis J. Sullivan, D.D, was to be both the Celebrant and Homilist for the Catholic Schools Week closing Mass. This was a most auspicious occasion as Bishop McHugh was only one of two schools to have Mass with the Bishop for Catholic Schools Week.
“Catholic Schools Week is a time to highlight the amazing work of all those involved in Catholic education – teachers, students, staff, administration and our school community. I cannot think of a more significant way to demonstrate this than having the Most Reverend Bishop Sullivan joining our school community for Mass,” said Mrs. Laura Tomlin, Principal. “This was an event that encompassed not only our school community, but our parish communities as well.”
The Mass was attended by alumni, members of the school community and area parishes. During Mass, the Bishop was presented with some school memorabilia and a spiritual bouquet of thoughts and prayers. After Mass, the Bishop toured the school and spoke with students.
