CAPE MAY – The men of Cape May’s Episcopal Church of the Advent, Washington and Franklin Streets, Cape May, have a tradition of hosting excellent dinners on the fourth Saturday of each month to support church projects and outreach. These meals are carefully planned and prepared to meet the high expectations of a city known for fine hospitality.
Modestly priced at $12.00 at the door ($6.00 for children) it is hard to beat the value. And, if you pay in advance, the price is $10.00 ($6.00 for children). You may stop at the church office for tickets (884-3065) weekdays except Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Everything is included: entrée, sides, coffee, iced tea and water. The menu for the August 24th dinner is barbecue pork, three bean salad, garden vegetables, rolls and dessert. A vegetarian entree is also available. Guests are welcome to bring beer, wine or soda to accompany their meal.
Table service begins at 4:30 p.m. and continues until 7:00 p.m. Take-out meals are available at the same modest price. There are no reservations and everyone is seated and served in the order they arrive, prepaid guests and walk-in guests alike.
