OCEAN CITY – Dr. Anthony Campolo, a favorite speaker at Ocean City Tabernacle returns this Sunday to preach at the two morning services, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Morning music and a full evening concert is from Zemer Levav, a Messianic musical group.
Rev. Dr. Anthony Campolo is familiar to Ocean City through his books and speaking at the Tabernacle since 1976—most recently at an evening service at the Tabernacle and this spring at the Music Pier Easter Sunrise service. He is Professor Emeritus at Eastern University and the Founder of EAPE. He is sometimes controversial but always inspirational and centered on following the teachings of Jesus. One of his ministries, Urban Promise, has been cited as making a significant difference in Camden with youth and family programs enhancing education and fighting poverty.
Blending ethnic and folk with both modern and ancient Biblical instruments, Zemer Levav introduces the listener to a fresh and vibrant sound. They worship the God of Israel and Messiah Jesus with dancing, with harp and lyre, flutes and hand drums, singing the Psalms with King David, Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! They are heard at 7:00 p.m. with pre-concert singing beginning at 6:35 p.m.
All Tabernacle services are inter-denominational. The 8:30 worship is traditional, beginning with a hymn-sing at 8:15 as the congregation arrives, led by Greg Field with organist Jeff Seals and pianist Carolyn Lothian. The 10:30 service is more upbeat and popular style with “praise & worship” music led by the Cairn University OTW Band.
Child-care for ages 3 and younger is in the Noah’s Ark nursery both morning and evening and age-appropriate Sunday School is available for children during the morning services.
Everyone is welcome—come in vacation clothes. Sunday events at the Tabernacle are by contribution only; tickets not needed. Parking is free on the Tabernacle grounds for anyone attending worship or concerts.
