Record-breaking Powerball Jackpot Winners Include Cape May County Resident

TRENTON — Millions of New Jersey players won millions of dollars in cash prizes resulting from the Wed., Jan. 13 drawing when three ticketholders from California, Florida and Tennessee lotteries split the world’s record-breaking jackpot. Two lucky New Jersey Lottery ticketholders won the second prize, matching 5 white balls, making those tickets worth $1,000,000 each. One of those ticketholders added the Powerplay multiplier making that ticket worth $2,000,000! In addition, there were 46 third-prizewinners with tickets that matched 4 white balls.
“The Powerball® Group instituted game changes, with one of the goals being that more players will win significantly increased, non-jackpot prizes and offer better odds of winning those prizes,” Carole Hedinger, New Jersey Lottery executive director said. “I’m pleased that with each game draw, New Jersey Lottery players benefited from those modifications. I am looking forward to meeting the latest New Jersey millionaires. “
The $2,000,000 second-prizewinning ticket was purchased at WAWA #423, 76 Springside Rd., Westampton in Burlington County.
The $1,000,000 second-prizewinning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven #15560 (G), 171 Buckelew Ave., Jamesburg in Middlesex County.
The winning numbers for the Wed., Jan. 13 drawing were: 04, 08, 19, 27 and 34. The Red Power Ball number was 10. The Multiplier number was 02.
The final jackpot reached $1,586,400,000 with a cash value of $983,500,000. Each ticketholder will receive an estimated $528,800,000. This was the 20th drawing since the most recent Powerball grand prize winner on Nov. 4, 2015.
The 46 third-prizewinning ticketholders matched the 4 white balls and the Powerball making their tickets worth $50,000. Three of those tickets were purchased with the Powerplay multiplier making their tickets worth $100,000 each.

Atlantic County: • $100,000 ticket – KK Gift & Grocery, 4229 Ventnor Ave., Atlantic City. • $50,000 tickets – WAWA #969, 5100 English Creek, Egg Harbor Twp., Arctic General Store, 2326 Arctic Ave., Atlantic City.
Bergen County: • $100,000 ticket – 7-Eleven #2412, 17 Franklin Turnpike, Mahwah. • $50,000 tickets – AS Auto Services, 2 Ridge Rd., Lyndhurst; Deanes Deli, 401 Blvd., Elmwood Park, Food Mart, 240 Market St., Elmwood Park.
Camden County: • $50,000 tickets – Friendly Food Mart, 1119 North Blackhorse Pike, Blackwood, WAWA #972, 602 Black Horse Lane, Mount Ephraim.
Cape May County: • $50,000 tickets – Westside Market, 517 Broadway, West Cape May.
Essex County: • $50,000 tickets – Grove Liquors, 131 Grove St., Montclair; Kings Super Markets, 778 Morris Turnpike, Short Hills; 7-Eleven #34052, 1712 Springfield Ave., Maplewood; South Orange Supermarket, 1006 South Orange Ave., Newark; 7-Eleven #11438 (N), 576 Bloomfield Ave., West Caldwell.
Gloucester County: • $50,000 tickets – ACME Market #7994, 415 Egg Harbor Rd., Sewell.
Hudson County: • $50,000 tickets – Union City Cosmetics, 4404 Bergenline Ave., Union City; Secaucus News Inc., /Kalyan, 1504 Paterson Plank Rd., Secaucus, MS Grocery, 733 Montgomery St., Jersey City.
Mercer County: • $50,000 tickets – Shoprite #500, 3373 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville.
Middlesex County: • $50,000 tickets – Quisqueya Supermarket, 249 Madison Ave., Perth Amboy; Los Lopez Mini Market #2, 210 French St., New Brunswick, Plainsboro Wine & Liquor, 10 Schalks Crossing Rd., Plainsboro.
Monmouth County: • $50,000 tickets – Penny Pantry Food Store, 4345 Route 9 North, Pond Road Shopping Center, Freehold. Keansburg Drugs, 119 Main St., Keansburg, Welsh Farms, 130 Route 33 W., Andee Plaza Store 130, Manalapan.
Morris County: • $50,000 tickets – Dora’s Laundromat, 82 King St., Dover, Lincoln Center Liquors, 261 Comley Rd., Lincoln Park, Morris Plains Liberty & Convenience, 1799 Route 10, Morris Plains.
Ocean County: • $100,000 ticket – Fischer Bay Exxon, 826 Fischer Blvd., Toms River.
Passaic County: • $50,000 tickets – Field Liquor, 1006 Route 46 W., Clifton, Shop & Stop #813, 160 Kingsland Rd., Clifton, Four Corner Stationery, 507 Main St., Little Falls, MAC Supermarkets, 61 4th St., Passaic, AL Supermarket LLC, 98 Mountainview Blvd., Wayne.
Somerset County: • $50,000 ticket – 7-Eleven #11449, 432 US Highway Route 206, Hillsborough.
Sussex County: • $50,000 tickets – Andover Krauszers, 454 US Highway Route 206 S., Newton, Vernon Gulf, 259 Route 94 S., Vernon. UNION COUNTY: • $50,000 tickets – Rahway Shell, 1659 Saint George Ave., Rahway, o Mountain Variety, 717 Mountain Ave., Springfield, Ever Blue, 431 N. Wood Ave., Linden, M & M Liquor Store, 22 South St., New Providence.
In addition, 1,135,393 New Jersey players took home an estimated $5,487,162 in prizes ranging from $4 to $200, according to Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger.
The Powerball jackpot will reset to $40,000,000 for the next drawing to be held Saturday, Jan. 16 at 10:59 pm. Watch New Jersey Lottery drawings for the Pick-3, Pick-4, Jersey Cash 5, Pick-6, CASH4LIFE from the Lottery website homepage (NJLottery.com), or on the official Lottery Facebook Page. Midday and evening draws, with the exception of CASH4LIFE, can be seen on WPIX-TV (PIX11) in New York and WPHL-TV (PHL17) in Philadelphia. Powerball and Mega Millions drawings can be seen on WABC-TV stations.
