STONE HARBOR – Steve Ahern, a Wetlands Institute volunteer, ran the New York City Marathon Nov. 6, the second year he has completed this race, raising over $1,700 in 2011 for the Institute’s aquarium and research department. Both Steve and his wife and trainer Susan are volunteers at the Institute, handling everything from the front desk, aquarium and research department as well as the planning committee for Turtle Fest.
