Quilts of Valor Chapter Presents 3 to Local War Veterans

CAPE MAY – On Nov. 1, the Quilts of Valor Foundation’s South Jersey Chapter 11255 awarded quilts to veterans Richard Nelson, who fought in the Korean War, Lou Kennan and Rich Nowakowski, both are veterans of the Vietnam War, at a ceremony at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 386 in Cape May.
Lou Kennan, who was a Navy corpsman with the U.S. Marines, represents the 200,000th Quilts of Valor awarded by the organization. 
The Quilts of Valor are awarded as tangible reminders of appreciation and gratitude to service members.
Quilts are pieced together by volunteers in every state of the Union.
