OCEAN CITY — Ocean City once again will welcome the calmer season with its annual Quiet Festival. This year’s event will take place Nov. 4 and 5 and will celebrate all the resources of the Ocean City Community Center.
The Ocean City Free Public Library, Ocean City Arts Center, Ocean City Historical Museum, Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center and Howard S. Stainton Senior Center each will be host to activities during the two-day festival.
Some of the activities will include:
• Crossword Competition: Crossword puzzle devotees are invited to a friendly competition featuring three puzzles of progressive difficulty. Two finalists will compete on boards, so the public can see the silent showdown. Separate category and puzzles for 13-and-unders.
• Checkers Tournament: An all-ages elimination tournament for checkers fans.
• Family Yoga: No experience needed for this family-friendly yoga class.
• Building Block/Brick Demo: A chance for Lego fans to show off their creations.
• Schuylkill Valley Boys Ukulele Trio: A not-so-silent concert of popular music from Sinatra to the Beatles.
• Mime Show and Workshop with Bill Bowers: A blend of performance, demonstration and audience participation with a renowned mime.
• Quiet Pet Competition: The traditional showcase event of the Quiet Festival takes place at the Senior Center.

Checkers Tournament for ages 8 to adult
People with an understanding of how to play checkers are invited to take part in our tournament. Open to ages 8 to adult. Register on site and game boards will be provided. Several players battle it out until only one of them is left. That player is then crowned the checker champion.
Royalty Storytime for all ages
Princes and Princesses are invited to come in royal attire to listen to a story with Miss Ocean City, Junior Miss Ocean City and Little Miss Ocean City. Guests will have chance to make a crown craft with our OC queens.
Ocean City Historical Museum Tours and Puzzle Time for all ages
Guests will take a trip back in time and explore the Ocean City Historical Museum with family friendly guided tours. Kids will have the opportunity to make personalized puzzles of Ocean City landmarks and events.
Ocean City Arts Center for all ages
See a live pottery demonstration, tour the beautiful gallery full of local art work and show your creative side by coloring with the Arts Center team. The Ocean City Arts Center is where the community comes together to celebrate art, to try something new, or even make dreams become reality!
Building Block/Brick Demo for ages 5 to adult
Lego fans, it is your chance to show off. Create your brick/block display and register for our building block demonstration and competition. Displays will be featured in our expo and must be smaller than 3’x3’x3’. Displays will be judged on creativity and wow factor. You must provide your own bricks/legos and displays can be made in advance.
Schuylkill Valley Boys Ukulele Trio in Concert
For the past 5 years, the Schuylkill Valley Boys have been bringing music and laughter to audiences across the region. We’re a ukulele trio who play and sing popular music from Sinatra to the Beatles, Golden Oldies, Folk and Bluegrass and songs from Tin Pan Alley. We’ve performed at Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day Parties and we’re ready to perform for you.

Bring your favorite stuffed animal for a special story time with “tea” and treats.
Mime Show and Workshop with Bill Bowers for all ages
This “informance” is an entertaining blend of performance, demonstration, and audience participation. Informances are fast-paced, thought-provoking, and peppered with “little-known facts” about the silent, (and not-so-silent) art of mime.
Family Yoga for ages 8 to adult
De-stress, disconnect and enjoy the peace and quiet in our family friendly yoga class. No experience needed. This is a great chance to meet and experience the fantastic Aquatic and Fitness Center instructors.
Crossword Puzzle Competition
Are you a crossword puzzle pro? Come show of your skills in our first ever crossword puzzle competition. An overall grand champion will be named! Perfect for adults!
Kids Ballet Demo and Class for ages 8 and up
Enjoy the calm and quiet side of ballet with an interactive class and demo.
Quiet Pet and Stuffed Animal Competition for all ages
Most unusual/cutest quiet pet, best costume, best superhero, best decorated display/habitat OR Display your favorite stuffed animal and tell the judges a story about it! Prizes awarded!
Bubble Blowing Bonanza for all ages
