Public Service Announcement Contest Open to Schools, Organizations & Individuals

WILDWOOD — In honor of Minority Health Month, and to increase protective factors and reduce risk factors pertaining to substance abuse & violence prevention, the Cape May County Healthy Community Coalition, a community initiative of Cape Assist, will hold their annual Public Service Announcement Contest. The contest is open to students grades K-12 in Cape May County, organizations & individuals. Students are invited to create a 30 second public service announcement (PSA) or a 60 second video. The themes have been expanded to also include, responsible use of social media.
“Cyber bullying is a serious concern among our youth today”, said Natalia Wilber, Community Educator at Cape Assist, “And because it doesn’t happen in person, teens often don’t realize they are bullying, so we felt it is something to think about and should be included in the themes this year.”
All the winners will be invited to the Cape Assist’s Public Policy and Awards Breakfast on Tues., April 25 where he/she will receive a special award.
Students are invited to create a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) or a one-minute video on one of the following four themes:
1. Would You Say It to Their Face? (cyberbullying)
2. What I Want My Parents to Tell Me about Alcohol
3. Why Say No to Marijuana
4. #CMC Youth Strong because… (hashtag promoting a positive image of CMC youth)
Entries are due at the Cape Assist office at 3819 New Jersey Avenue, Wildwood, NJ no later than 4 p.m. on Mon., April 3, 2017.

*Any entries submitted after this deadline or without an entry form will be considered invalid. One entry per person. Winners will be chosen by a committee made of the coalition members based on relevance to theme, factual information and creativity.
