COURT HOUSE –At its 6 p.m., Oct. 19 meeting, the Middle Township Committee honored Police Sergeant Francis Fiore as the October 2015 Employee of the Month.
“Sergeant Fran Fiore has quietly organized our Toy Drive every year to help needy families here in Middle Township. As if that didn’t keep him busy enough, earlier this year he asked the Police Department about supporting the 6th Annual Crayons for Cancer Drive and it has been a huge success,” said Police Chief Christopher Leusner. “The community responded in an unbelievable fashion and we packed an entire room with boxes filled to the ceiling. These boxes will be delivered next week by Sergeant Fiore and other members of the Middle Township Police Department to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and none of it would have been possible if it had not been for Sergeant Fiore stepping up and deciding to take on this project,” continued Leusner. “Sergeant Fiore’s actions are an inspiration and I could not be more proud of him and all the officers that assisted him with this effort. “
Fiore began his career as a Middle Township Patrolman in September 1996. He states that his favorite aspect of his job is “not knowing what will happen during any given shift. It could be anything.” A resident of Cape May Court House and father of two daughters, Fiore states that spending time with his family, particularly watching his kids play sports and dance, is favorite pastime.
“Fran personifies the term ‘Middle’s Finest,’” Mayor Tim Donohue said. “Above and beyond the stellar work he does as a police officer, his commitment to volunteerism and other good works exemplifies the MTPD’s dedication to the proven success of community policing.”
The Middle Township Employee of the Month program was initiated by the Township Committee to honor employees who exemplify the Township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents. The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one of the Township’s most beloved employees in its history.
Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations: Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department, and on the bulletin board. Residents from the Township who have had a very positive interaction with any Middle Township employee may pick up the one-page nomination form and fill it out in the employee’s behalf. Each month a Township employee will be selected; the winning nominee will receive a certificate at a future Township Committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.
