Pickle Ball Workshop and Demonstration to be Held May 11

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Department of Aging & Disability Services along with the Cape May County Park & Zoo will be offering a free pickle ball workshop and demonstration at 10 a.m. May 11, 2016 on the basketball courts of Cape May County Park East. (Between the Zoo entrance and the Parkway).
Pickle Ball has become an attractive activity to many senior citizens.  It is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two, three, or four players use solid paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports.  It has the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis. Pickle ball was invented in the mid-1960s as a children’s backyard pastime but quickly became popular among older adults as a way to stay active and as part of a healthy lifestyle.
The Cape May County Department of Aging & Disability Services encourages our senior residents to join us for this free event.
