Video Highlights of Lower Talent Show

By Jack Fichter

ERMA — The name of the event was “Lower Township, You’ve Got Talent,” and that point was driven home by the performances of 26 acts ranging from a dancing second grader to a group of grannies billed as the Dancing Divas bumping and grinding to “All That Jazz.”
The show featured piano and guitar soloists, a hula-hoop champion, a male vocal group with professional experience and a number of singers.
Winners were divided into age divisions:
Kindergarten through fourth grade: first place, Hannah Mohr; second place, Kayleigh Unruh; and third place, Danny Hueber.
Fifth through eighth grade: first place, Tyler Hienkel; second place, Karley, Kasey and Kiersten Whitten; and third place, Kelsey Moore.
Teen competition: first place, Diverse featuring Eddie Perry, Dexter Darden, Paul Rogers, Zack Van Mourik; second place, Chris Eisenmann; and third place, Sara Ehrardt and Dana Cashmore.
Adult competition: first place, Tomiko Snook; second place, Christopher South; and third place, Nick Morensy.
Like American Idol, the talent show had celebrity judges including Lower Township Mayor Walter Craig, music storeowner and former teacher Mr. J. and former teacher Marmie Garrison.
The show was held in the auditorium of Lower Cape May Regional High School and emceed by Terry O’Brien.
