Peer Leadership Conference to Be Held Nov. 18

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – The 16th annual Peer Leadership Conference is set for Nov. 18, 2011 at the Wildwood Convention Center. It is presented by Cape Assist and its Healthy Community Coalition. It is open to all middle school and high school students, grades 6 through 12.
The day begins with group pictures, an exhibitor’s hall and an opening session. The students and advisors will then attend workshops and complete their day with lunch. This year’s focus is on “Building a Better Role Model,” and the workshops will center on the importance of role models, and how they can influence a student’s life.
Joe Maloy, a graduate of Wildwood Catholic, will be the conference’s keynote speaker. He is currently training for the triathlon for the upcoming Summer Olympics in London in 2012. Joe will speak about his triathlon career and his experiences of competing in other countries.
Donations are still needed for the conference to help with the cost of providing breakfast and lunch, and a bag of giveaways for each participating student. Exhibitors are also being sought. For more information or to contribute your time, talent or resources, please contact Kim at kim@capeassist.org or 522-5960.
