COURT HOUSE – Patrons of the Cape May County Park and Zoo will be connected beginning May 24 via the largest continuous free Wi-Fi network in Cape May County. Whether picnicking in the park, celebrating a birthday party or watching the new baby Giraffes stroll across the Savannah, visitors to the Park and Zoo will be able to browse the web on their personal lap tops or mobile smart phones.
This expansive project involved three years of planning and four county departments and will offer coverage over twenty acres of property at the park and zoo. Residents and tourists alike will be able to stop by for lunch at Aramark’s Safari Café and enjoy a meal while getting some work done or browse the latest social media app via a personal computer or mobile device.
“The Cape May County Park and Zoo network will extend wireless access to over 500,000 patrons enabling convenient free connectivity on-the-go at the Park and Zoo,” said Freeholder Marie Hayes, liaison to the Cape May County Park and Zoo.
The WiFi project will pave the way for the development of a mobile application highlighting the Cape May County Zoo’s upcoming special events as well as educational tidbits about the animals.
