COURT HOUSE –– The public is invited to join the Cape Regional Medical Center Parish Nurse Program’s “Paint the Park Pink” in a Breast Cancer Walk at the Cape May County Park and Zoo on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 1 p.m.
The fifth annual inspirational walk will celebrate survivors and their families of breast cancer, support those going through treatment, and honor those who have succumbed to this illness. All participants are invited to meet at Shelter #1, Cape May County Park and Zoo, Cape May Court House, New Jersey at 1 p.m. (Registration starts at 12:30 p.m).
“Over the past four years, the Susan G. Komen Breast Health Awareness Program at Cape Regional Medical Center has directly educated over 2,500 Cape May County women on breast health by talks and presentations to faith communities and women’s organizations,” stated Gloria Schultz, Program Coordinator for the program. “With the help of the Susan G. Komen Grant, the Parish Nurse Program has assisted over 600 women to obtain a mammogram during the past four years. Most of these women had not had a mammogram in two years or more and some, never.”
The “Paint the Park Pink” Breast Cancer Walk is sponsored by Cape Regional Medical Center’s Parish Nurse Breast Health Awareness Program which provides breast health awareness talks and mammograms for the women in Cape May County. This year’s goal is to raise $1,200, with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Central and South Jersey.
