COURT HOUSE – Middle Township has partnered with Operation Shoebox NJ to send care packages to U.S. troops based in Iraq, Afghanistan and other Middle East countries. So far, the organization has donated five care packages from Middle Township community members who signed up at the Memorial Day Parade, and has shipped more than 73,000 packages in all to U.S. military personnel. Founded in 2005, Operation Shoebox is a 501(c)(3) all-volunteer organization.
Operation Shoebox NJ will be present at Middle Township’s Independence Day celebration, which will take place July Fourth from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Clarence and Georgiana Davies Sports Complex on Goshen Road. Rain date is July 6. Community members may register their family members to receive care packages by visiting the Operation Shoebox table at the event.
