Officials Send Thanks to ‘Friends of Lower Township’

VILLAS – With help from the “Friends of Lower Township,” residents and visitors enjoyed a fun filled Independence Day festival and fireworks display July 5.
The annual event is a collaboration between the township and the Friends of Lower Township, a group of business owners and residents that have made contributions to fund the annual community tradition.
The program, established by Deputy Mayor Norris Clark, is an economic development initiative to build partnerships between the business community and local government. The program calls on local businesses and organization to help fund recreation activities such as the Independence Day Festival and Fireworks.
The sponsorships are at three levels: Gold, or $2,500; Silver, or $1,500; and Bronze, or $500.
Mayor Michael Beck, members of Lower Township Council and Township Manager Mike Voll wanted to thank those that had become members of the Friends of Lower Township program and generously contributed to the annual event.
Those residents and businesses that have initially made contributions are: Carl Schnekenberger, John and Kathy Louderback at Gaiss’ Meat Market, Kindle Ford, Cape May Beach Property Owners, Sturdy Savings Bank, Atlantic Capes Fisheries, Lund’s Fisheries, Teresa and Ed Henry at Harpoon Henry’s, Marsh & McClennan Agency, J. Byrne Agency, Cape May Winery & Vineyard, George Weeks at George’s Auto Repair LLC, Carl Suit at House of Print, Lucky Bones, Eckel Diesel, John and Dee McNulty at Bayshore Landscaping, Steve Delmonte at Delmo Sports, Fabio Pawlus at Jersey Shore Signs, William Blaney, Lower Township’s Municipal Utilities Authority and the Delaware River Bay Authority.
