WILSON, STANLEY F.

WILSON, STANLEY F., 80, of North Wildwood, NJ formerly of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013. He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Frederick and Elizabeth (nee Lacey) Wilson. Stanley was a graduate of Wildwood High School Class of 1950, where he was Class President and a three sport letterman in football, baseball, and track and field. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Drew University, and was Treasurer of New Dorm. As long as there is baseball at Drew, players will be inspired by the gray ghost named Wilson that made the”Catch” to beat Stevens! As said “a legend that will never die”. He was a member of Bishop Janes United Methodist Church in Basking Ridge and of the NJ Jaycees. Those who knew Stanley and his love for the beach would be waiting for him on 5th St. Mr. Wilson is survived by his four children, Lindy Ann Manning, Daniel S. Wilson, Kathleen S. Wilson Berger, and Stanley F. Wilson; his sister, Elizabeth DiMaio; and his six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara “Babs” Wilson. Memorial services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Wilsons memory may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Delaware Valley Chapter Headquarters, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
