WEEMS, DON B. Jr., MD, age 81 of Venice, FL died Monday, July 29, 2013. Born, raised and practiced medicine in Wenonah, NJ. He retired in 2004 to Cape May, NJ and Venice, FL. Graduated Woodbury High School in 1950, Gettysburg College in 1954, Jefferson Medical University in 1958. Practiced medicine at Wenonah Medical Association from 1958 to 2004. Was Medical Director of Shady Lane Nursing Home for 38 years and Medical Director of Gloucester County Vocational School for 28 years. Member of the Staff of Underwood-Memorial Hospital. Member of Wenonah Fire Company, Deptford Elks Lodge # 2708, Kentucky Colonel, Cape May Marlin and Tuna Club. He loved boating, fishing, reading, the beach, and spending time with family. Predeceased by his parents Don Bright Weems Sr. MD and Ada Bessey Weems, son Don Bright Weems lll, grandsons Robert W. Haberle and Jesse Bright Glaser. Husband of Judy (nee Dempsey), he is also survived by son Lawrence P. Weems and his wife Terry, their children Scott Weems and his son Jordan, Tammi and Joe Desiderio their children Joey and Brooklyn, Adam Haberle and his son Dylan. Chip Glaser, his wife Michelle their son Johnny Hertz and his daughter Olivia Rose, Beth Glaser and Bob Murphy and her son Alex Beutler, Jay Glaser, his wife Robin, their children Andrew and Zachary. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9 to 12 Noon Thursday, August 8 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Wenonah Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions in Don’s memory may be made to Gloucester County Police K9 Association PO Box 337 Mickleton, NJ 08056-9998.
