WARD, IRENE (JURCSEK)

WARD, IRENE (JURCSEK) passed away on November 25, 2012 at Atlantic City Medical Center from complications following a stroke. Irene lived a full life that included family, friends, laughter, adventure, and joy. Born in Allentown, PA on May 22, 1934, she spent her early years in the Poconos, PA and St. Augustine, FL. She was a long time resident of Cape May Court House. She waitressed for many years at the Country House Restaurant in Burleigh and later provided child care at the Burdette Tomlin Auxiliary Early Education Center. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church in Cape May Court House. Irene loved her time with friends as a member of the Seashore Mothers of Twins Club (where God chooses the members) and the Red Hats Club. She enjoyed shopping, working with her flowers, walking on the beach, time with her grandchildren, going to the Cape May County Park, and, above all, a good sale. She volunteered at the food bank, church, and the hospital. Irene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronnie Ward, as well as six children and thirteen grandchildren Valerie (Joe) McGrail and children Camille, Liam, and Donal of Denver, CO; Denise (Bill) Lawrence and children Ryan and Emily of Boulder, CO; Jeff Ward of Cape May Court House and New York City; Shawn (Gina) Ward and children Jared, Anthony, and Marisa of Naples, FL; Kelly (Gene Solomon) Ward and children Daisy, Lucy, and Henry of Pullman, WA; Michael (Kathy) Ward and children Brier and Ellie of Smithfield, NC. A mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of the Angels in Cape May Court House, NJ on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 12:00 noon with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cape May County Zoo.
